SchemaMaster is software designed by developer as a private tool... Now you can use it too. SchemaMaster is an ODBC tool designed to copy information from one ODBC source to another and allow analysis to multiple ODBC sources at one time. SchemaMaster can optionally launch external applications when connected data sources go offline and come online so system administrators can monitor multiple databases in multiple locations with one tool. Example: Launch a script to email system admin if database goes down. What is special about SchemaMaster is that it actually creates the data structures and puts the data into them automatically handling the details for you. It also catalogs schema information on demand and also exports schema information to MS Excel *.xls files for analysis - very handy to get one Excel sheet with every field name in your entire database in one column! Without SchemaMaster, many steps more are required to import and export information to different databases and often details specific to each data source has its own issues that need to be addressed for the import/export to go smoothly. Some may say they do this by exporting to csv and importing the same way, but with SchemaMaster - you can copy an entire database with hundreds of tables with a few clicks! Once more you can copy the same data to multiple databases in one go - even if the targets are different database platforms! SchemaMaster is also invaluable for managing the Jegas Application Server, and assisting with development of JAS applications due to the number of tools built into it for this purpose. Tested Database platforms Microsoft SQL, FoxPro, Microsoft Excel, TEXT ODBC Driver, Microsoft Access, MySQL. | |
System Requirements SchemaMaster runs on any Windows Operating System from Win98 up through Windows Server 2008 and Vista. Note: Vista 64Bit users may have difficulty using 32 ODBC DSN connectivity - consult your OS documentation. On Vista installations you need to be admin and you should install SchemaMaster somewhere besides the "Program Files" directory because this directory is locked down for security reasons in Vista. Extensive testing on Vista has not been performed. You might need to try MDAC 2.8 which you can download here. Download Download our free demo. There are no time limits, no forms to fill out, so check it out. Registration allows you to open more than one database connection at a time which also allows you to copy entire databases (structures only or structures and data) from one platform to another.
